Jim Sutter
CEO @U.S. Soybean Export Council
Jim Sutter joined the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) as Chief Executive Officer in 2010 after over 30 years of industry experience with Cargill, Inc. Since joining USSEC Sutter has led strategy development to ensure that the organization’s key focus is on differentiating and building a preference for U.S. Soy. Key initiatives have included building on the competitive advantage of U.S. Soy’s sustainability, improving the partnership with China in the area of sustainable food security, and demonstration of the intrinsic and extrinsic advantages of U.S. soy to customers around the globe. Jim is also actively working with various industry associations around the world on behalf of U.S. Soy. He grew up on a crop and cattle farm in northeastern Colorado, received a degree in Agricultural Business/Economics from Colorado State University. Jim has worked and lived in numerous global locations and now makes his home in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mac Marshall
Vice President, Market Intelligence @United Soybean Board
Mac Marshall serves as the Vice President, Market Intelligence for the United Soybean Board (USB). Prior to joining United Soybean Board, Mac served as global market analysis and trade lead at Bayer Crop Science, where he worked on international market access issues as part of a global agricultural policy team. Prior to Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto, Mac worked in Monsanto’s global strategy group with a focus on commodity market analysis in support of the company’s long-term strategy setting and understanding of near-term market dynamics. Before joining Monsanto in 2014, Mac served as a staff economist at the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics with a focus on agricultural commodities, in addition to serving as the supervisory economist leading a team of economists covering service industries. He holds a B.A. in economics from Vassar College and an M.A. in applied economics from Johns Hopkins University.
Randall Mittelstaedt
Head of Market Insights @R.J. O'Brien
Randy has been involved in fundamental analysis of commodity markets for more than 25 years, specializing in grains and oilseeds. He joined R.J. O'Brien in 2000 and is currently the Head of RJO’s Market Insights. In this role, he is regularly relied upon to aid in risk management and hedging decisions for commercial clients based on his analysis of the macro factors impacting the grain markets. Randy has given numerous presentations to industry groups and agri-business clients and is regularly relied upon by national media as an expert in grain futures markets. Prior to R.J. O'Brien, Randy was Senior Grains Analyst for Merrill Lynch for over seven years, providing all fundamental research in coarse grains and wheat.
Kevin Roepke
Regional Director - South Asia and Su-Saharan Africa @U.S. Soybean Export Council
Kevin Roepke serves as the Regional Director of SASSA for USSEC. He is chiefly responsible for the strategy and implementation of market and trade development for US SOY within South Asia. Before joining USSEC, he worked in various positions with the US Grains Council, recently serving as regional director for South and Southeast Asia and Oceania, based in Malaysia. Additionally, Roepke worked on many complex trade issues for the US Grains Council, posted in Beijing, China and Washington, DC. Before this, he was with Archer Daniels Midland’s (ADM) oilseed processing division where he was responsible for the Western Divisional soymeal export position. Roepke graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Public Service and Administration in Agriculture and recently honored with the 2018 STATEMent Maker Award for Outstanding Alumni. He is also the co-founder of an app that won the American Farm Bureau 2018 AgTech Startup of the Year. He received an MBA from MIT, in Cambridge MA.
